eMeeting dating software suite is a neat package, with a lot of features and an affordable price tag. Using eMeeting, one can create a dating site such as match.com fairly quickly, without banging your head against the wall for the programming involved. The software is fully automated and comes with features such as instant messaging, photo galleries, private photos, video clips, among a host of others. All of this is backed by reliable technical support and free installation.
eMeeting offers a whole host of various features including flash chat rooms, instant messenger, forums and others. Nothing out of the ordinary that would make it stand out among other dating software providers. It would be great if features included in the product were more flexible and provided more options though. It’s also not possible to disable those features you do not want to have on your website. Most companies add a ton of features to their scripts which is a good thing until the whole product looks like a pile of unproductive code. Maybe one day they’ll redo certain things to make them better. They could also improve efficiency of the code because your website will get slower as it grows.
This dating script is reasonably easy to use and manage. It is almost fully automated, so the process of building a dating website and running it is almost hassle-free. Most tasks get streamlined and automated. Control panel looks unintuitive so you need to spend some time to find a certain feature or setting. Developers should probably reorganize their administrative layout to make it more efficient.
eMeeting offers both paid and free design templates. Additionally, every template comes with a demo preview option so that the user can try the same out before actually downloading them. All templates are customizable and one can add one’s own colors, images and text. Template categories are wide and varied. Majority is of course for plain-Jane online dating, but there are also the lascivious ones like those for Swingers, Gays/Lesbians, as well as those categorized along racial groups such as blacks, Indians, etc. It does look though that their templates do not take advantage of latest technologies and rely on old coding style. While it still works, you may have a hard time when it comes to customizing templates.
If you’re looking to customize the software or extend its functionality you need to spend several times more on an open source license. With the basic license files are encoded and you will not be able to make changes to anything but templates. Also as it was mentioned above, there is no easy way of disabling unwanted features so you’re stuck with whatever there is. It would be great if eMeeting was able to integrate with third party products such as forums or instant messengers.
Customer support is of reasonably good quality, with numerous options available for contacting the company, whether phone, email or live chat across most of the popular IM clients. Their website also features video tutorials which make the process of familiarization with eMeeting rather effortless. The online ticketing system on the website also provides for easy submission of complaints or any other issues you’re faced while using eMeeting.
eMeeting has two licenses you may choose from. Basic license is $200 and offers all of the features but is encoded so you won’t be able to modify the script. Their developer license is a whooping $800 but gives you an option to edit the source code. If you would like to remove eMeeting’s branding from your website you will need to spend another $130 to for branding removal option.
Development, software updates and community could be a bit more active. But if you don’t plan on making any customizations, extending the default functionality or having complete control over the site’s features, eMeeting is a neat product at a fair price. Webmasters looking to offer a comprehensive dating solution should consider it.

October 18, 2009 @ 05:36 am 1I have to comment on this article which I found while trawling the internet for more information on Jim Ugi, who is seemingly the one and only person behind emeeting. All seems well with this software until you actually go live with it, then flaw upon flaw just springs out of the woodwork! Various random changes are made to members profiles, head ares cropped, profile views vanish and friend requests spotaneously come and go, monitoring members does not monitor members, as for who is online, it really is all or nothing literally and when someone last logged in is entirely fictional rendering it worth less page space than Jim’s helpline phone numbers! These may all seem like little problems but when people are paying you to be able to communicate and display their details on a site and they cannot then it really is a problem, so use the help and suppport you say….. a seemingly logical answers except Jim ( also known as Rob in the forums) has two approaches, one is to ignore you completely , the other is to say he tried it , it works fine! Obviously neither of these achieves much and is certainly no good for keeping your paying members paying! The phone numbers ( BOTH) are permanently linked to an answerphone, Jim only calls back if you are a new customer looking to buy, the email is pretty much a one way point of contact the minute that you have a problem, and submitting a ticket may be easy but getting any kind of useful response is completely impossible. You can’t even access the forum until it is too late and you have already paid but you soon see that everybody has the same problems that Jim denies existing.Do not buy this software, do not consider buying this software, do not even waste your time looking at the demo! As I said it all seems fine until you want it to function with members, the worst of it is by the time you get that far the only option that you are left with is to pay someone independant lots more than better software would have cost in the first place or to change it or just shut all down and start again waisting weeks of planning and advertsing budget all because of Jim Ugi and his emeeting or as I prefer to call it E – NOT – MEETING!

September 29, 2011 @ 11:27 am 2I bought two open source licenses. Initially, I found the script and their idea good, but as the time passes and you try to test the functionalities for the site, almost everything fails. I would say, don’t make your site paid, because you won’t be able to give paid services using this script, and you might be sued by your customer. As said above, Jim is the only helping person at Emeeting, but how long and how many bugs you will report him. Sometimes he says he will fix those bugs in next update. Why should I wait for next software update? Almost every part of the scripts has bugs. I found bugs in profile creation, online chatting, messages, winks, comments, rating.. almost everything. They could have done better. They would need to stop selling the licenses for a month, and fix all bugs and test the software rigorously. From my side – big NO to Emeeting. They dont meet the expectations.
